Bastrop, Tx–Free seasonal flu vaccine will be offered to area residents from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 24 at Bastrop Middle School, 709 Old Austin Highway.
The clinic will be sponsored by state and local health officials with assistance from local volunteers. The vaccine is designed to protect the public from the seasonal influenza virus, not the much more talked about H1N1 viral strain.
The Bastrop clinic will be stocked with 600 doses in a mist form, as well as 200 doses in an injectable preparation, said officials. The vaccine is aimed at protecting residents ages 2 to 49. Doses will be distributed on a first come first served basis without charge
